An Irish Blessing

May love and laughter light your days and warm your heart and home

May good and faithful friends be yours wherever you may roam

May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures

May all life’s passing seasons bring the best to you and yours.

I Promise You

I can’t promise you that dark clouds will never hover over our lives. Or that the future will bring us many rainbows. I can’t promise you that tomorrow will be perfect, or that life will be easy. I can promise you my everlasting devotion, my loyalty, my respect and my unconditional love for a lifetime. I promise that I will always be there for you, to listen and to hold your hand, and I’ll always do my best to make you happy, and make you feel loved. I can promise that I’ll see you through any crisis, and pray with you, dream with you, build with you, and always cheer you on and encourage you. I can promise that I’ll willingly be your protector, your advisor, your counsellor, your friend, your family, your everything, I promise you.

In my life

There are places I’ll remember

All my life though some have changed,

Some forever, not for better

Some have gone and some remain.

All those places have their moments

With lovers and friends I still can recall,

Some are dead and some are living

In my life, I’ve loved them all.

But of all these friends and lovers

There is no one that compares with you,

And these memories lose their meaning

When I think of love as something new.

Though I know I’ll never lose affection

For people and things that went before,

I know I’ll often stop and think about them

In my life, I’ll love you more.

Heaven Sent

Love ruled the day, when the angels came to meet, sweeping them up and off their feet. Neither of them knowing what the future would bring, two hearts together and one diamond ring. Today it’s a promise, so sweet and so pure. Together forever, for love to endure. A blessing from above, this story is told, a love to last a lifetime and a hand to hold. It was no accident, that this came to be, now you must realise that it really takes three. So go hand in hand to a future unknown, knowing that with the Lord, you will never be alone. With the angels still near and dear to heart, this couple shall prosper and never grow apart. For it’s not always the eye that is the first to see, what really matters in life and what is meant to be. So remember that to love is time well spent, what brought you two together was heaven sent.

Marriage

Happiness in marriage is not something that just happens.

A good marriage must be created. In marriage, the little things are the big things. It is never being too old to hold hands. It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once a day. It is never going to sleep angry. It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through the years. It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It is standing together facing the world. It is forming a circle of love that gathers the whole family. It is doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy. It is speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It is not looking for perfection in each other. It is cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding and a sense of humour. It is having that capacity to forgive and forget. It is giving each other an atmosphere in which each can grow old. It is a common search for the good and the beautiful. It is establishing a relationship in which the independence is equal, dependence is mutual and the obligation is reciprocal. It is not only marrying the right partner; it is being the right partner.

I’ll be there for you!

I’ll be there my darling, through thick and through thin

When your minds in a mess and your heads in a spin

When your planes been delayed and you’ve missed the last train

When life is just threatening to drive you insane.

When your thrilling whodunit has lost its last page

When somebody tells you, you’re looking your age

When your coffee’s too cool and your wine is too warm

When the forecast said Fine but you’re out in a storm.

When your quick break hotel turns into a slum

And your holiday photos show only your thumb

When your park for five minutes in a residents bay

And return to discover you’ve been towed away.

When the jeans that you bought in hope or in haste

Just stick on your hips and don’t reach round your waist

When the food you most like, brings you out in red rashes

When as soon as you boot up the whole thing crashes.

So my darling, my sweetheart, my dear…

When you break a rule, when you act the fool

When you’ve got the flu, when you’re in a stew

When you’re lost in the queue, don’t feel blue because

I’m telling you, I’ll be there for you.

Marriage

Marriage is love, walking hand in hand together. It’s laughing with each other about silly little things, and learning to discuss big things with care and tenderness. In marriage, love is trusting each other when you’re apart. It’s getting over disappointments and hurts, knowing that these are present in all relationships, it’s the realisation that there is no one else in this world that you’d rather be with than the one you’re married to, it’s thinking of new things to do together, it’s growing old together, marriage is being in love for the rest of your life.

An Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

May God be with you and bless you, may you see your children’s children. May you be poor in misfortune, rich in blessings, may you know nothing but happiness from this day forward.

May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be always at your back, may the warm rays of sun fall upon your home, and may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on, may blue be the skies above you, may pure be the joys that surround you, may true be the hearts that love you.

Reflection

As long as forever, I will be at your side. I will be your friend, companion and guide. As long as I live and long as you care, I will do anything for you, I will go anywhere. I will bring you the sunshine, I will comfort your fears, I will gather rainbows to chase all your tears. As long as forever, my love, I will be true. For as long as forever, I will only love you.

The Apache Wedding Blessing

Now you feel no rain, for each of you will be a shelter to the other. Now you feel no cold, for each of you will be warmth to the other. Now there is no loneliness, for each of you will be a companion to the other. You are two bodies, but there is one life before you and one home. When evening falls, each will look up and the other will be there. He’ll take her hand; she will take his and you’ll turn together to look at the road you travelled to reach this, the hour of your happiness. It stretches behind you, even as the future lies ahead, a long and winding road, whose every turning means discovery. Old hopes, new laughter, shared fears. Your adventure has just begun!

Hands – Reflection

These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as together you build your future. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children. These are the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.

A Marriage Reflection

“Marriage is more than a walk down the aisle,

It’s a promise that’s shared and an intimate smile.

It’s a personal bond that you look on with pride,

And the knowledge that someone will be by your side.

It’s a vow of commitment that’s blessed from above.

It’s hope and a dream for a life time of love!”

Take my hand – Reflection

Take my hand, come walk with me along life’s winding way,

Take my hand, come stand with me, together we will say.

It’s you that I have chosen, it’s you with whom I’ll stay.

It’s you with whom I’ll share my life, I want no other way.

I want you always by my side, through laughter and through tears,

The good, the bad, we’ll share it all, through all the coming years.

Because I want this union, to continue to be blessed,

I pray we both will care enough to always give our best.

I know that if we do our best, that when our journey ends,

We’ll find that we’ve come through it all, still lovers and still friends!

Reflection

____ & ____ I want to say something to you.

I Yahweh am your God and I will be with you always even till the end of time.

No matter what you do and no matter where you are, my love for you will never leave you, for I will call you to me and I will be your God, for you are very precious to me and I love you.

I will be with you always, in your times of suffering and distress and in your times of peace and joy.

Whenever you are in need, remember my steadfast love for you and you will find strength and healing.

Even if the mountains should fall and the hills are shaken, if a mother should forsake her child, my love for you will never leave you, for I have carved your names in the palm of my hand.

You see I will never forget you, for I am a God of love and I will always be with you.

This is what I ask of you and only this…..act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God.
